Summary: Intrepid Force is a Poor Example of the Action/Sci-Fi Genre
Comment: I felt obligated to read this book because it was given to me as a gift by a loving relative who has little experience with the science fiction genre. Mom, I love you, but this book was a stinker. The plot was sketchy from trying to get an in depth focus on a large group of people, something rarely accomplished in a single book. Rather than make me sympathetic to a few characters, the author tried to make me love the entire Intrepid Force, their families, and anyone else they met along the way.
Mr. Wise was like a kid with a new box of toys and he desperatly waneds to show every piece in his brand spaking new collection, ultimately forgetting to appreciate each piece as an individual and shoving the whole jumbled mess into his audience's face. This could have been a great tale of high tech adventure, but it came out as a poorly edited cliche of Power Ranger-like beings stumbling about chasing after a ruthless shadow figure who resembles a poor Darth Vader wannabe.
Throw in the vauge references to a mysterious girl in a bubble, a boy who acts as her prophet, and gooey references to everyone needing redemption, and you've got a really pathetic novel called Intrepid Force. I recommend finding a copy at your local library and reading for yourself, but please, don't waste your cash.

Summary: A Must-Read for Action Adventure Junkies!
Comment: What a rollercoaster ride! Wise has spun a superlative tale that captures the reader from the opening page and packs a big whallop throughout. Intrepid Force is a futuristic tale of friendship, loyalty, and the age-old battle of good versus evil. Much of the incredible technology included in the novel has been so thoroughly researched that it is not only believable but inevitable. I found it difficult to put the book down and couldn't wait to turn each page to discover what happened next. With richly-written characters and settings, this book is sure to please any fan of the genre. I hope the sequel comes soon - I can't wait for the next ride!

Summary: xmen meets power rangers
Comment: Have you ever had a dream that was so vivid, it took you a while to figure out if it really happened or not? Have you ever had deja vu so strong you thought you dreamed what was actually happening? This book takes you there, to prophecy and time travel with well-developed characters who make up the team, "Intrepid Force". Mutant superheroes are mixed with Power Rangers suit technology, except the mutants are very believable people with real emotions you find yourself empathizing with, and the power ranger technology is much cooler without the cheesy choreography and bad acting one-liners. For those who loved the Shadowrun role-playing world, you will totally plug into this adventure. Be warned though - this book is definitely the first of a series, so you end with just as many questions as it answers. I can't wait for the next one!
