Summary: The experts need strategy too.
Comment: I have been playing fantasy baseball since the days it was referred to as rotisserie baseball. I have always been interested in the competitive aspect of rotisserie baseball. The player projections don't mean too much to me because everyone has the same information. I like to see how other players react to the moves of others. I always look at the LABR fantasy baseball mock draft put on by USA Today. I read the comments about how the experts get carried away with their bidding and how they drafted a player too early. Look at a 2004 fantasy baseball mock draft and you will see how emotions come into play. If the experts can be greatly affected by the moves of their opponents, so can the people in your league. Probably more. There is so much room for error, rather so much opportunity to take advantage of, you need to have solid fantasy baseball strategies in place.

Comment: I have spent a ton of time researching and trying to learn as much as I can about fantasy baseball. I have been doing roto leagues for 10 years and I have never found a book that was this good and detailed. I can say that I truly feel going into this year that I will have the best team when this season is over. Never before have I seen a side of roto baseball like this. I almost feel guilty using this book because it will give me such an advantage come draft day. I highly recommend that you get the spreadsheet that is available with the book. One last thing, I thought I had a concrete strategy going into this season and after reading the book I realized that my strategy was no better than the other 11 guys in my league. I now feel as if I will be unique.

Summary: hogwash
Comment: The author is a fantasy. First, I was in the author's league for 3 years, and Hank didn't win any of those years. Second, most of the sunny reviews are given by his friends from the league. Third, I saw him finish DEAD LAST one year because he ate Pedro and Manny at very inflated prices. His claimed success rate is bogus, 50%? Yeah right. He did not win last year either folks. So in the past four years, not one first place victory. I guess he must have rattled off a few consecutive first place finishes before I got to the league, but I doubt it. His reputation in the league was of an opportunist, as in he'd prey on less knowlegeable owners and rape them in unbalanced trades. The book on him from players in the know was, if he offers you a trade, decline then check your wallet. But of course, there was always one or two morons that would fall for it.
So all this talk about method adds up to a mound of buffalo chips. Being in a league with the author, I can testify that he didn't win while I was there. And last time I checked, finishing LAST doesn't make you an authority. Spend wisely.
