Summerhayes (Director, GOOS Project Office at the IOC, Paris, France) is an extensively researched study of the science and social issues regarding ocean management for the next twenty years. Individual chapters address the issues of climate change, the problem of overfishing and the questionable sustainability of the fishing industry, oceanographic technologies, and much, much more.
