Comment: I took the CLEP using only this book as a study guide, figuring because I have a medical and biology background I would be fine. I passed, but I did not do as well as I thought I would, and there were a lot of questions on the exam that were not covered in the study guide. Also, all the Comex books need to be updated. They all present the test in it's old form. I would not recommend using this book alone to someone who has no or limited science backgound.

Comment: I agree with other reviewers. I took the test, using this book alone, and missed passing by 1 point. There were several items not covered in the book that were on the test.

Summary: Good Review, but not useful alone
Comment: I read this book from cover to cover - twice - and did well on my second try of the practice exam. I felt pretty good about the knowledge I had learned. However, this did NOT prepare me for the CLEP Exam in Natural Sciences. The questions were much broader than what is covered in this book. I suggest that this book definitely be used as a beginning to study for the exam, and then add other resource materials, including biology text books, chemistry, and physics. It will take much more than just this book to pass the exam.
