Summary: Good Starting Point...
Comment: I had a bear of a time finding this book, as it seems to be the only available one solely devoted to the CLEP Humanities exam. I finally found the book and used it, along with several other books, and my knowledge of trivia and famous poetry, novels, paintings, etc. to study.
Last Friday I took the test and got a 73 on it. It was taken via computer and the scores range from 20 to 80. I needed to get above a 50 in order for my college to accept the test in lieu of 6 credits, so I was very pleased and happy that I passed.
Remember, the key to passing the CLEP Humanities is to know as much as you can about poetry, architecture, paintings, novels and short stories, etc. There is no way that anyone knows everything, but if you have a mind for trivia, like I do, you will do just fine and this book can be a big help. There were even a few questions on my exam directly relating to the information I gleaned in the book.
I already sold my book on Amazon within hours!

Summary: Excellent Guide
Comment: I was initially intimidated by the CLEP exams and didn't know which study guide to use. On a whim, I picked this up. I found the information easy to reference and very thorough. During my preperation for the test, I found other study guides and noticed that majority of those instructed you on how to take the test without providing a lot of detail. To say the least, I passed with a 580. I'm getting ready for the Social Science exam and have been using the same author's guide. I suggest this guide to any one planning or in the processing of studying for the test - GOOD LUCK!

Summary: Excellent guide!
Comment: While this guide does not teach you absolutely everything you need to know to pass the exam, it teaches most of it. It gives you excellent test taking skills, which is necessary if you haven't taken a computerized CLEP exam before. (I hadn't.) Next, it gives you a good grounding on all areas covered by the exam. About half of the questions in the book were on the exam I took. Another third of the questions taught me how to answer similar questions on the actual exam. I got full point: 80 out of 80 on the exam I took using only this guide, the 10 sample questions I got from College Board for $10, and a little bit of prior knowledge. You can easily pass (50%) with this guide. GOOD LUCK to you!
