Summary: Everything you need to know.
Comment: Rick Steves' London is full of information that you will need when visiting London. Not only does he cover the travel esentials but he covers those items that you never would have thought of. We bought this book for our second trip to London to make sure we didn't miss those things that only a seasoned travelor like Rick would know. He points them all out. Rick's book will also save you from waisting your time and money on those sights that are overrated, and suggest those sights that are not to be missed.

Excellent.

Summary: Very good guide for someone with limited time to see London
Comment: My wife and I went to London in June, 1999. We took Rich Steves' book and London:The Rough Guide. Steves' book is a well written, short guide for the novice traveller to Europe or for someone with a very short time (less than one week) to see London. There is a suggested schedule for seeing the most sights in the shortest amount of time. I particularly liked the triangle ratings of sights which allowed me to find the most important ones fast and easy. The book gives all of the essential information about getting around, eating, and accommodations in a very readable format. I very much recommend this book.

If you are a more seasoned traveller or want more detail on London and English history and culture, then I would recommend London: The Rough Guide more than this book. Since that is what I like in a guide book, I give Steves' book four stars.
