My girlfriends highly advanced 3 1/2 year old will love to have it read to her! It helps to fermilarize children with some popular breeds of dog. This would be a good gift idea if you're shopping, with your child, for a first puppy (but, please also talk with a vet and breeder for more specific breed info, and to find a breed that would best fit your families life style!). Loved the tabs of doggie heads peeking out from the pages! END

Comment: Having pictured both of my dogs (a Shepard and Rottie) helped to kick my rating up from four stars to five. This book is a great encyclopedic/generalized reference book for the K-3 child, depending upon reading and comprehension level. My girlfriends highly advanced 3 1/2 year old loves to have it read to her! It helps to fermilarize children with some popular breeds of dog.
