Summary: Under-rated
Comment: OK I'll be first to admit most of the fights were pretty disappointing. Instead of having people vote for the winner they should had just went but ACTUALLY should have won. And some of the match ups could have been more interesting like instead of Robin vs. Jubilee and Catwoman vs. Electra, Thanos vs. Darkseid and Hawkeye vs. Green Arrow. And although the story is confusing at first but a second reading clears up just about all questions. I found the story to be intriguing and original. I also enjoyed the ending for Batman and Captain America end up saving two universes (I don't want to spoil how but if your a fan of either check this out). As for the art, excellent. It gave to look and feel of the characters as you've always wanted them to be. If it were possible I would have given the book 3.6 stars because of how some of the battles went.

Summary: The Battle Everyone Wanted - Contrived Waste
Comment: This is the book that Fanboys around the nation have waited for. The results of the battle were voted upon in the comics beforehand. However, a project of such promise results in a mess (the cliche 'too many cooks' comes to mind) and the writers seemed to lack much of a understanding when dealing with unfamiliar characters.

First off, the storyline was very confusing in an effort to set up the battles. Wouldn't it be better to try to figure things out rather than go mindlessly into fights? Second, the battles between the heroes were often too short, some lasting a few panels, the major ones lasting a couple of pages. Since the results of the battles were voted on by the fans, the winners of the battle were not necessarily who should have won, but the most popular (no way Storm beats Wonder Woman or Spider-Clone beats Superboy). The best matchup- Captain America vs Batman was decided by a sewer.

The story was encumbered by the continuity running in their own comics at the time. The Spider-Man found here was actually a clone of the original Spidey. Thor was somewhat depowered.

The real battles I would have liked to see: Reed Richards vs Plastic Man! Rick Jones vs Jimmy Olsen! Mary Jane vs Lois Lane! Aunt May vs Ma Kent!

Summary: Huge let down.
Comment: I came in with modest expectations. I was hoping to see reasonably lengthed battles and a interesting story. What I got was...well the opposite. The battles were bland and short. Green Lantern and Silver Surfer is a great example. GL and SS simply fly into each other and the victor is left standing over the loser. The battle takes only two pages to finish. The Superman and Hulk battle is decided with 4 punches. The Aquaman V.s Sub-Mariner fight lasts one page. I feel cheated to have bought this. They should have released each match as a separate comic. DO NOT BUY THIS!
