Summary: If you ever forget what life is truly for....
Comment: Two years ago, in the middle of July, I went to the library with my daughter. She wanted to pick out a few books as she had just learned to read and I wanted to promote her eagerness. Whilst she was looking, I wondered to myself and thought, "Gee, when was the last time I read something good?".

Looking thru the vast number of books on the best sellers list, The Christmas Box, in it's beautiful covering, caught my eye. "How silly, I thought - reading a Christmas book int he middle of July!!" But, I got it anyway and that night, never put it down til I was finished, wet cheeks and all. The very next day I went back and got both "Time Piece, The Letter" and read them through as well. What a wonderful experience and journey.... Richard Paul Evans has done a remarkable series.... and if you do want to have "a good Read", and want to escape into the twists and turns of the lives entangled in his story, take the time, you will enjoy every minute. And when you are finished, you can also read "The Locket", a new series he has started, and hopefully will unravel a few more titles... Thanks Richard! :)

Summary: Tender and Sweet and an Easy Read
Comment: The Christmas Box is marketed exactly as it should be -- a prettily packaged "gift book" with a melt-your-heart story.

While Richard Paul Evans certainly gives us an easy read with a good message (such a rare gem these days!), his writing does tend to fall a bit flat at times, succumbing to unnecessary detail or, in some instances, cliche.

If this writing style doesn't bother you, you will absolutely love this book. It's a refreshing change from much that is out there, and you will most likely sigh contentedly after you've finished the last page.

Pick up this book for a light read -- if anything, it's definitely the kind of story that will draw you right in and keep you reading.

And it's just the right size to squeeze into somebody's Christmas stocking as well!

Summary: Beautiful and Touching Story
Comment: If you can read, you should read this book. If you can't, you should get someone to read it to you. The "Christmas Box" was a beautiful family tale. The story is extremely short, taking only a couple of hours to read.
