Summary: Collection of cliches instead of guidance.
Comment: I was quite disappointed with this effort, and the reasons were two-fold. First, the "information" was really hackneyed or unrealistically out-of-date. The author seems to have used afternoon talk shows as her primary source of material, because none of her advice seems grounded in real life. Other books in this vein, such as those by Jack Mumey, or especially Susan Page, are much more helpful and in touch with the 1990's. Not that it is a requirement, but the author clearly has no actual personal experience in this field. My second disappointment with the book is her writing style, or lack thereof. She has laid the book out in poor fashion, not in an intuitive manner, so it flows weakly. And her grammatical usage is strained almost to the breaking point. This is probably more her editor's fault than her own, but the end product begins to grate after a while. I would have to recommend one of the authors noted above, or almost anyone else, instead of this one.
