Summary: Young kids might need help
Comment: This is a wonderful book on drawing, and I would recommend it to anyone whose age ranges between 10 and 100.The author gives plenty of ideas for those who are shy at first, but they are written with a small types so if you don't need help you are not forced to have it , and the instructions are very clear and easy to follow.
However I would not give it to yopung children for two reasons. Reason number one is that children younger than ten express themselves through drawing. The way they draw a tree, for example, tells us a lot about their personality. No instruction should be given before age 8. Reason number two is the instructions are a bit difficult for kids up to third grade.
I suggest teacher should use this book as an art connection inside a Roald Dahl author study.

Summary: Great Gift
Comment: Bought for my 7 year old Grandaughter who's the only one in the family that is not artistically challanged. She has spent hours reading and using the ideas in the book. Improved her confidence 100%. Would recommend to all for child who really wants to draw but doesn't understand you don't have to end up with a picture like a photograph.

Summary: Encouraging!
Comment: This book is an encouraging work by quirky illustrator Quentin Blake. The reader is encouraged to try drawing, and to enjoy what comes out of the pencil/pen! Blake's writing is as humorous as his drawings, and not disappointingly, his drawings linger near the edges of each page beckoning you to draw companions for them.
I would recommend this book to anyone too embarrassed about her stick figures to ever draw one in public, but who secretly cherishes a desire to doodle with style.
