Comment: This book is by far the best beginner method book that I've come across. It gives you the basics ( types of guitars, tuning, changing strings, etc. ) then it goes right into learning chords.

Summary: Great for "NEW to Guitar" players
Comment: If you want to "test" the waters with that child who "just has to play guitar" than this is the book. You will not find many book/CD combos for this price. There is enough information to get the new player off the ground and realizing that they can learn from materials and do not necassarily need a $15.00 a half hour instructor. For the price, the instruction on tuning alone is worth it.

Summary: The Ultimate Beginner Acoustic Guitar
Comment: This book just contained a minimum amount of information to get started playing acoustic guitar, a few chords and that's about it. I would sugest bying "Guitar for Dummies", which contains a lot more information and some songs to practice with. Bottom line don't waste your monney on this book.
