Summary: Style but no substance
Comment: I had seen Max Lucado on Larry King, so I picked up this book. It was disappointing. Yes, it changed my thinking. But only for a few minutes. There was nothing in the book that really "stuck to my ribs" spiritually. The book did not encourage me to dig in the Word or to make changes in my life. I don't plan on reading any more books by Max Lucado.

Summary: WOW!
Comment: Reading this book helped me come to a much better understanding of just what our Savior did for us! To leave Heaven in all of its glory and splendor and come to earth to become a human! Max brings the Incarnation into such focus. I found myself in tears several times as I considered God's sacrifice for me! What a blessing! This book is going to my favorite people this Christmas!

Summary: Jesus truely becoming HUMAN
Comment: When we think about Jesus coming to earth and still being human it is a very hard concept to grasp. We sometimes put him on a pedestle that is often times too hard for us to reach. But that isn't why Jesus came - he came to be reached out to, to be touched and loved. He came as a friend and as a Savior. I think why many people don't like this book is because it shatters their stain glass picture of Jesus - as an untouchable unreachable God. But Jesus was truly human, and this book does an excellent job of showing Christ for who he truly was. Read this book with an open mind - you will be changed. God speaks to Max Lucado, and through him will speak to you. God bless!
