Summary: A good foundational book
Comment: This book lays a good foundation for anyone who is Truly searching for Real Love, rather than the popcorn/cotton candy Love that celebrities call Love.
But real, deep, lasting Love.
In addition or instead of this book, I recommend "When God writes your Love story" by: Eric and Leslie Ludy

Summary: Good, a little corny
Comment: This book was very inspiring at times. The first 70 percent of the book is corny. The tone of it is as if we were children. I would like a more frank discussion since most of us have been corrupted by frivolous sexual relationships and are now ready for a change.
If you don't mind wading through the pollyanna material then it is well worth the time. I really was inspired by some of his Biblical analysis on dating (courting) and marriage. He has thought through this well. And his counsel is wise.
If I were to re-write this book, the only change I would make is to spend the first few chapters assessing how we all have [messed] up our youth through sex and dating for superficial reasons. This would show that the author relates to the sinful portion of our dating lives.
The timelines for dating are guidelines as he says, and are worthwhile.
Again, the last two or three chapters are worth the read. It is a great effort and noble to tackle this huge issue for most of us. I am sure the author will put out future books refining his style.

Summary: good but....
Comment: This book is good but I felt that it misses the mark. Like other dating books it covers common sense advice like "avoid dating a non Christian, be mature in your relationship with Christ before entering a romantic relationship." etc.
The author presents charts throughout the book on how a romantic relationship should follow. No offense but there is no such thing as a formulaic way to go about relationships, and its ridiculous to actually think that dating is a sin or "disease."
Yes, I agree there are a lot of problems in dating but its not like "courting" is more holy or more safe. There will be problems with romantic relationships no matter what they want to call it. So while I agree there is a lot of smart advice in this book, I wouldn't recommend it.
Life doesn't follow formulas and charts. There are better books out there like "Boundaries in Dating" and "When God Writes Your Love Story." I liked them a whole lot better than this book.
