Summary: A HELPING HAND
Comment: "Short and Sweet!" In a non-threatening, "as-a-matter-of-fact" way, Dr. Joel Block and Fred Block, a Special Education high-school teacher, offer the reader ways to turn a negative human emotion into positive behavior. They successfully cover a topic that most of us have dealt with at one time or another--ANGER. Although this book was written with teenagers in mind, don't be fooled; young or old alike, can benefit from the information found in this instructional pocketbook-type of reader. The use of large font, familiar teenage dialogue and humor, encourages even the less avid readers to learn about themselves. Typical examples of anger-related incidents are enhanced by realistic conversations, surprisingly familiar to older readers as well as younger ones. Topics such as bullying, rejection, harbouring resentment and divorce are a few of many discussed. "BEAT YOUR HEAT!"

Summary: Refreshing
Comment: A subject that so many of us are all too familiar with whether we like or not. The fact of the matter is that everyone experiences anger, while some may explode others seem to have a grip on their anger. Staying Cool did just that, it helped me redirect my anger in a constructiver rather than abusive manner. This book uses real examples in which all teens can relate too.
