Summary: Well crafted Short Story Writer who brings it all to life
Comment: I love a well-crafted short story collection where every story
is written by the same author. But, they are hard to find.
Where does John Harrington Burns fit into this? Helived his life as a human tape recorder, because he brings it all to life
with his words. He has a knack for blurring the lines between fact and fiction. He writes stories that leave me clueless as to whether or not they really happened to him. Are they true, or is he just that convincing? That's not the real question. The real question is, does it matter? And the answer is, no it does not.
Burns writes in many genres, from sentimental to frightening to
showbiz behind the scenes. He won't hesitate to take a risk, to
experiment, to try something he hasn't seen before. I admire that
in any author. Especially in a first effort like HIDDEN TREASURES. And that is an appropriate title. There are a few in here. I thank the author for sharing it with me.

Summary: A Fine Writer
Comment: John Harrington Burns is a fine writer. His down-home humor,
and art of story telling is a joy to read. I have his book:
"Hidden Treasures," and I don't keep it hidden for long. It
is on my library shelf, within easy reach, to peruse again
and again.

Summary: What a Variety!
Comment: From his short poems to his short stories, John Harrington Burns writes of a wide variety of characters and situations in Hidden Treasures. This collection includes stories that range from a young boy's time with his Italian grandfather to a young man's encounter with live television in the early 1950's. Mr. Burns' writing gets you involved, not knowing what twists will happen along the way. Very enjoyable and well written.
