Summary: Too young to die
Comment: Angela Allen was too young and too beautiful to die. She was found by her sister in her own bed, laid out as if displayed in a coffin, absolutely perfectly, not a hair or ribbon out of place. The detective called to the scene is suspicious right away and the investigation begins.

It turns out Angela was a twin and so is Detective Hannah Bell. What impressed me in this story, was how well the author wove two stories together, the one her detective was investigating, and the one her detective was living. Detective Bell's twin sister had been missing for many years. Her pain was lingering. Angela's family pain was just beginning...or was it?

There's a lot to keep track of in this story and sometimes I wondered why this or that element was included, but I found out why as the book reached its climax. Ms. Hill appears to be a new author. I haven't found any other work by her. I hope she will grace us with another book.

Summary: Author of The Dead Angel
Comment: Of course I like this book. I wrote it!!...and I'd like to give the reader a little more descriptive detail than would fit in the space allowed on the back cover of the book. I promise not to give anything away.

This novel is the first in the Hannah Bell detective series. Hannah is a Chicago detective (in her mid-thirties) who is investigating the death of a wealthy young woman in her mother's mansion in Chicago...yes, I know, it says that in the blurb on the back cover. What it doesn't say is that this young woman is a twin; and so is Detective Bell. Hannah's sister, Heather Bell, went missing 25 years ago when the girls were eleven years old. Heather's disappearance is one of the reasons Hannah went into police work. During the investigation into the death of Angela Allen (the wealthy young woman), Detective Bell shares with the reader some memories of her life with her sister and of some of the events of their childhood. In the end, we not only find out what happened to Angela Allen, but also what happend to Heather Bell.

Enjoy reading the story. I enjoyed writing it, and am working diligently on the second one.

Summary: Would like to read more
Comment: I always get frustrated when I like a book a lot and then can't find anything else by the author. I found the dual storyline enticing, unexpectedly so as I'm not a big mystery fan. It was recommended to me by a friend so I borrowed her copy and read it. It had enough suspense to keep me interested and there's some real humor in this story, if you're quick-witted enough to catch it. I read the book in two sittings. It was hard to put down.
