Summary: Good Material but much too short!
Comment: I liked the substance and idea of this 1998 edition of this book. The concept of protecting your assets is only prudent action in today's litigious society. William Bronchick, a Colorado Attorney and real estate investor subtitles his book "How to Shelter Your Assets from Lawsuits, Liability, and Financial Disaster." The text of the book is only 80 pages and is printed only on one side and double spaced. The blank pages are NOT numbered, but none the less this is a small text. There are appendices and other resources
In the back of the book, and there are also advertisements in the book for other Bronchick products. Overall I liked the book, the author writes of avoiding lawsuits, personal liability, appearing broke, control don't own, limited liability companies and bulletproofing your protection. These are all good ideas and I would have liked to see expansion of these topics. This is a good book to start, but you're probably going to want to read other books, and talk to other attorneys to round out your knowledge of this crucial subject.

Summary: Good Techniques, but short on implementation
Comment: Bronchick delievers and briefly explains about excellent techniques on how to protect assets by using "layers of protection" and how it will deter greedy creditors by adding extra work to claim any monies from a court ordered judgment. What I found somewhat disappointing, was the fact that Bronchick didn't go into details on how to implement these techniques in a step by step process so that the entity you want to use to protect your assests, is setup properly. He gives some examples on how to accomplish the techniques, but somehow leaves you hanging, by mentioning to the reader, that "if you need more details, to purchase my advance techniques...
But, in Mr. Bronchick's defense, I must say that, if you would want to setup a general and simple entity(Corp., LLC's, FLP'S or Land Trust), that would not pertain to specific legal and/or taxation issues, the price on these courses are very reasonable.

Summary: Don't be fooled by appearances
Comment: When I first looked at this self-published book, I was somewhat dissapointed. It looks kind of like really thick term paper; typed, double-spaced, etc. But on reading this, I found it contains a wealth of information on covering your assets. As Bill says, "CYA doesn't mean 'Call Your Attourney'".
In this book, Attorney Bill Bronchick gives a good overview of various trusts and business entities for individuals, professionals, and small business owners to avoid lawsuits and lessen their impact if you do get sued.
I have used Bronchick's materials to form my own corporation and put my real estate holdings in trust. This book is an excellent place to start.
