Summary: A Great Book for Both Black Men and Black Women
Comment: As a Black Man who is father with two teenage sons, I want to encourage both Black Men and Black Women to read Chocolate Thoughts. I was surprised to read a book that captured so much of what I have been through as a Black man as well as so much of what my friends and I deal with on a daily basis. Every writings wasn't about me, but in every one I could identify with what the character was dealing with. My favorite pieces are Black Men. Father's Day, I Won't Bow Down, Dedicated To You, With the Woman Whom I Love as well as Combat Pay. I am particularly impressed by the way the writer or writers infuse the growth that the different characters undergo as they come to understand the importance of God in their lives. It is extremely rare to see not only strong Black male characters with convictions and determination to make it in life but to see the growth and development that different Black men take in order to arrive in such a place. I was able to see in words, the thoughts that I as a Black man have and had on some many different topics ranging from sex, racism, family, relationships and society all together. In some places I grown, in others I haven't. It was just impressive to see Black male outlooks of the world articulated in way that was is so true to the feelings I and many brothers I know experience and think. I would be deeply surprised if a Black man could not identify with the book and feel proud to have read it. While many of the Brothers are positive, not ever one is as in real life. But even when dealing with those characters, I struck by the way the author didn't not justify their wrongs but sought through the writings for us to hear how the person arrived in such a state, while exposing us always to other men who had grown from their wrongs. Since reading the book, I have purchased it for both of my sons. I believe that this a book that both Black Men and Black Women will appreciate and enjoy.

Summary: How does it feel to live as a Black man in this society?
Comment: What makes this book so special is that it gives others the opportunity to understand how it feels to live in our society as a Black man. So much to think about lies between the covers of this book. It is their truth, their reality that is shared with the readers. This book makes the perfect gift for the men you love. He gives voice to their feelings. James says what they think but sometimes cannot express. Learn, understand and enjoy Chockolate Thoughts today.

Summary: Now that was fine writing
Comment: I read Chocolate Thoughts on a whim and I'm so glad I did. This collection of essays, poetry and stories is written straight from the heart of the author and remarkably it tells the story of black men from all walks on conciousness. I loved it and can't reccomend it enough. I'd like to give it six stars.
