Summary: "Stress Free" preaches solid management basics
Comment: If you're feeling stressed out, you need to read this book!
It's a great book and it's very easy to read. The book serves as a reminder that managers need to stick to good solid management basics. Most of our stress comes from allowing ourselves to get wrapped up in things that are actually beyond the normal scope of our jobs.
The first chapter has an excellent section on job burnout. Job burnout evolves through different stages. The ability to recognize the early stages of burnout can be a real career saver. It helped me just to know that I'm not the only one that has dealt with some of these feelings.
The book goes on to discuss a broad spectrum of basic management topics and how each of them relates to stress. It covers topics such as time management, planning, delegation, and business ethics. It's all good material that managers should brush up on from time-to-time.
It's a good book and I've recommended it to several of my colleagues.
