Summary: A welcome surprise
Comment: Recently I was trapped for several hours in a tornado shelter with nothing to occupy my time. I was thrilled to come across D. Bastianelli's (et al) masterpiece, PEAS -- UTILISATION IN ANIMAL FEEDING. Though I was skeptical at first, I found the book to be an intriguing portrait of an underused legume in the world of livestock care. I don't own livestock, nor do I know anything about them; but, by the end of this engaging work, I found myself wishing that I owned animals so that I could feed peas to them. It seems astonishing to me that so much of animal husbandry relies on other staples like hay or alfalfa, when peas are so readily available as a source of protein and other vitamins. In fact, I found this book so fascinating that I didn't come out of the shelter for hours, even after after the tornado was long passed. Bravo Mr. Bastianelli, and the rest of you, in alphabetical order. I'm anxiously awaiting your next effort.
