Comment: I do confess that I am fascinated through reading the wholebook which reveals the politeness in different angles, one fromWestern perpective and the other from much Oriental one. To some extent, the author has excellent knowledge and experience the cultures of the two languages. This book is extremely helpful for my teaching and research.
