Summary: On a Far Wild Shore
Comment: Malcolm MacDonald has fast become one of my favorite authors. His portrayal of life during the 1800's in Great Britian and in particular Cornwall is outstanding and transports the reader to a time we can only imagine through his words. I'm amazed that he has grasped so well what women during this time period must have thought and felt. As he describes the countryside, I can visualize the scenery having traveled there not too long ago and noticed how little changed the lanes and streets are now from those times he writes about. This book was one of my favorites of this rather prolific writer but I have many more to go. Well worth the read. I'm especially impressed with the fact that he can write about sexual issues without getting graphic and vulgar.
