Summary: Read Arbatova's plays instead
Comment: This "almost a novel" is Arbatova's weakest book so far. I would recommend her autobiographical prose and plays instead. Especially after having read the rest of her work, the characters are too recognizable, the opinions exchanged strike as having been aired before, and the plot is a bit too (melo)dramatic. All this said, it is beautifully written in places.
