Summary: DEEP INTO THE ROOTS OF U.S. COUNTERCULTURE
Comment: This book in Spanish by an Argentine poet, and not available in English, reconstructs the genesis of the American countercultural peace generation, over more than three decades, including a wide overwiew of the decade following the end of WWII. Both the Beat Generation and the Hippies are portrayed year by year, as a documentary film, with a clever transcription of manifestoes, bits of poems and parts of meaningful rock lyrics. The author lived in the U.S. and he was a close friend of many key people of those movements, so this book carries a warm prologue by poet Allen Ginsberg. The main features come from Grinberg's experience as a co-founder of the Underground Press Syndicate International.
